The website is dedicated to family of Elvain and Pearl Martin, and is primarily focused on their children and subsequent generations.
Shown in the photo below in the top row is Elvain and Pearl Martin, Sylvia Baker, Esther Cornell. The second row is Ollie Jenkins, Lita Hanrahan and Lovain (Murph) Martin.
The initial purpose of the site was to share my memories with my son’s and their families with the hope of keeping these memories from being lost to the pages of time. As I continued by stories, I realized that there was much to discuss about what I knew, and especially what I didn’t know, or had forgotten. I had the opportunity to discovery the members of my family who I had not kept in contact.
The first born child of Sylvia was Jewell Baker.
The next child born was Esther who married Patrick Cornell and had eight children: Pat, George, Tom, Ward, Bud, Peggy, Elmer, and Peggy
The next child born was Ollie who married Robert Jenkins and had three children. The photo show Ollie and her son Tom, Robert Jenkins, Nancy along with Sheila and Tom, Sheila(and Tom) and Tom(1968)
The fourth child born was Lita who married Tom Hanrahan and had two daughters. The photo shows Lita (with Christine),Shirley (Lee) and Christine
The last child born was Lovain (Murph) married Rita M and had three children. Jack (not shown), Mary Lou, and Terry (not shown)
The blogs at this time are memories that I had during my childhood. Hopefully additional stories will be added.
The vast majority of photos at this time are from my personal archives, and as such do not contain many pictures prior to digital photography. Alas, many pictures may still be sitting in old photo albums amidst the dust of decay.
Notes
The site contains stories, which are kept as blogs about different family members or events. The site contains pictures which I had either previously found in my archives, or had found on Facebook. I was fortunate that my personal archive had been saved on Google Photos, and most of the pictures where grouped in photo albums. I make heavy usage of these albums via links to them from the website.
The organization of the website was key. I intended the website to be used primarily on a mobile device, and did not spend much time with the appearance of the site using a Personal Computer or MAC.
With the advent of Facebook, many current pictures can be found, but the task of identifying the people in the pictures is often not easy.
